Fractora vs. VI Peel for Acne

Our skin is resilient, but there are aspects of it that may make us less than happy. And while we know we’ll always have some flaws in the skin department (scarring, fine lines, etc.), we don’t want acne to be one of them. Thankfully, there are some treatments that can help restore the clear skin you dream of. Keep reading to learn about two acne treatments we offer, so you can make the best choice.

Fractora

Fractora is fractional skin resurfacing, but it doesn’t utilize laser energy like many skin resurfacing treatments do. Radiofrequency energy is delivered into the dermis, the skin’s second layer in this skin-rejuvenating treatment. The Fractora handpiece contains delicate pins, similar to microneedling treatments. These tiny pins create microscopic channels through the epidermis, where it can make big changes in your skin. As the needles penetrate the epidermis, each one delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy directly into the dermis. This helps your skin heal itself faster than it could alone.

VI Peel

The VI Peel contains a synergistic blend of gentle yet powerful peeling agents to help turn over dull or congested skin, revealing beautiful healthy skin. It is one of today’s most popular and effective treatments to give your complexion a boost.

This treatment uses a combination of alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, resorcinol and retinoic acid to improve tone, texture and clarity of your skin.

Who is a good candidate for these treatments?

Skin resurfacing with Fractora has much shorter recovery time when compared to other skin resurfacing treatments. Fractora doesn’t cause hyperpigmentation, so patients with darker skin tones have great results with this treatment. Fractora can be used on sensitive areas of the face like the eyelids and around the mouth, so if you have issues in sensitive spots, this could be a great option for you.

The VI Peel may require some downtime, which is very common with chemical peels. If you do not have time to stay indoors, a peel may not be the best option for you.
